Daniel Thonon spends a good part
of his time composing music. He has written most
of the material for Advielle que Pourra and Montcorbier.
Some of his compositions such as Evit Gabriel, Scottishe du Stockfish, or Yiddish Scottish have become classics of the international folk repertoire and are played and recorded by many musicians; David Surette and Rodney Miller (New England), Glen of Guinness (Switzerland), Breizh Storming (Britany), French Creek (California), A Portland Selection (Oregon), Marian Rose (Vancouver), Abourasqui (Italy)...
Daniel also writes for the theatre : Molière's L'Avare, and most of le "Matou Noir"'s creations for Puppet Theatre.
Daniel also composes for other artists and as well as soundtracks for CDRoms and movies: "Empire of the Moon" by John Haptas and short movies by Les Blank.
Daniel has also written scores for animated films, for the circus, and has provided the accompaniment for various silent movies.
